5 Life-Changing Bible Verses on Healing in Romans
Healing, whether from physical wounds, emotional scars, or spiritual burdens, can often feel overwhelming. Through the Book of Romans, Paul addresses both the human struggle and the hope we have in Christ. Through passages like Romans 5 and 8, we find promises of God’s peace, reassurance of His transforming power, and guidance on enduring life’s harsh realities. Let’s explore how these verses offer a pathway to deeper healing and wholeness, one that invites us to lean on Christ’s example. 1. Romans 5:1–2 (NLT) “Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for…

5 Uplifting Bible Verses, Motivation From Romans
When I read through the letter that Paul wrote in Romans it’s hard to not be motivated. Paul was both courageous and disciplined. He was excited to motivate others in their Faith, and was willing to travel great distances to do so. He was undeterred by the challenges he saw ahead of him. Paul was also excited to let others motivate him, and had the mindset of a life long learner. Below, we are going to look at several scriptures that we can keep in our back pocket to help us be motivated to press forward through whatever life throws at us. Through these verses we see the faithfulness, transformative…

Is Happiness Really That Complicated?
What is happiness and joy? Are these actual concepts we can truly understand, and if so what would be the importance of understanding them? I’ve often compartmentalized these concepts, and wondered if truly understanding them is worth spending mental energy on. After all these are personal emotions that only impact our own person right, or maybe not? I was at a conference several years ago. I had to step outside for a brief moment to take a phone call and on my way back inside I crossed by someone sitting just outside the conference door on a bench, seemingly staring into space. They were literally right by the door so…

10 Things I Learned from My Dad
My dad is a pretty amazing man. Of course I would say that, I am his only daughter, after all. However, I strongly believe that anyone who knows this man would wholeheartedly agree with me on this assessment. He is, quite simply, one of the good ones. To me, he is simply the best. I have learned a great many lessons from this man I call dad. Here are just a few that stand out…. 1. Don’t quit. From a young age, I participated in sports. It took a while to find my niche, but once I did, I was hooked. So was my dad. I ran track and cross-country…

Fathers Should Know These Things Are Appreciated!
Write about what you know, they said. So, I write about being a mom. I do not always know what I am doing or how it will turn out, but I have an amazing mom and I am mom to two amazing sons. Thus, the majority of my writing is about being a ‘boy mom’. However…. With Father’s Day quickly approaching and a recent fishing trip with my little family, it occurred to me that sometimes dad’s ‘mom’, too. I thought I was fine. My pale white skin glowing as bright as the sun. However, I was mostly covered, wearing a large hat, sunglasses, and long shorts. Plus, there was…

How a More Active Approach to Faith Made Me a Better Leader
While it might be a stereotype, I believe there is some truth to the old adage that men aren’t as emotional as women. There are certainly outliers, but on the whole, I’d say it’s harder for us to get in touch with our emotions, and most of us don’t give it much effort. This disconnect with emotion has a tendency to run over into the faith arena too, or at least it does for me. Don’t get me wrong there are times when I do feel that emotional connection to God, but that comes and goes. Does that mean my faith is broken? I used to think so. I used…

Dads Showing an Example to your Children on Mother’s Day
I have a friend that recently posted something on social media. It hit me straight in the heart. This single mother shared how much she dreads being on social media on Mother’s Day; seeing all the moms with flowers, homemade breakfasts-in-bed, and all of the lovely things that are ‘from the kids’ (but everyone knows, behind-the-scenes, the effort and expense mostly comes from the father of those kids, especially the younger ones). It should not be the case that only traditional, married, in-tact families celebrate moms on Mother’s Day! All mothers shouldbe celebrated. Not just one day a year, but every day, in this single momma’s humble opinion….. I have…

Be a Better Leader Have a Richer Life!
One of the reasons I would never run for office is because I would likely never know when to stop. I mean, if you are the president, you have no days off, no vacation time. As long as you are breathing, you are working. So how do they manage? If they still have families, they may have stopped juggling work and personal life. Maybe they took a page out of ‘Total Leadership: Be a Better Leader Have a Richer Life’ by Stewart D. Friedman. Possibly, they found a way to enhance their personal lives while being good leaders. But even if they didn’t, you can. The concept of ‘total leadership’…

What I Learned About Never Giving Up Over Coffee
As I sat down with Eric over coffee, I asked him what message he hopes his story communicates. Without hesitation he said “Never give up, I want to inspire people to never give up”. You see, Eric was diagnosed with a rare eye disorder as a child. Doctors didn’t expect him to make it out of the hospital. He’s now 59. At one point he was completely blind. He suffered a massive stroke and wasn’t expected to be able to speak again, yet here we are talking over coffee. He understands what “Never giving up” means. He understands struggle. Yet, Eric is one of the most optimistic people I’ve ever…

Why We Men Need Alone Time: Hint…It’s NOT You
Sometimes it feels like life is moving too fast, and I’m just trying to keep up. I’ve come to realize that to keep my sanity, alone time is essential for me, and probably for all humans. It’s not about pushing anyone away or escaping from the people we love. Alone time is about recharging, reflecting, and reconnecting with ourselves. So here, I want to explore and explain why we men need alone time, and why it’s a vital part of our mental health. It’s a busy world out there… Firstly, let’s talk about the hustle and bustle of everyday life. From dawn till dusk, it’s like we’re running a marathon…
